David Klow, LMFT
David Klow brings deep awareness, compassion and commitment to those with whom he works.
David is the founder of Skylight Counseling Center, Skylight Healing Center, and The Skylight Foundation. He is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. He is also extensively trained as an intuitive healer and spiritual guide in the lineage of the School of Spiritual Cycles as well as in the tradition of the Berkeley Psychic Institute. David works creatively and collaboratively, drawing on ancient wisdom and modern practices to bring lasting transformation to people's lives and the world. He is the author of You Are Not Crazy: Letters from Your Therapist, from Wyatt-MacKenzie Publishing, which helps normalize the process of therapy, as well as Inspiration For The Weary Therapist: A Practical Clinical Companion, from Routledge Press, which is a book for therapists.
David created Skylight Counseling Center in 2011, and Skylight Healing Center in 2021 which are both dedicated to the growth and development of individuals, couples and families. Combining traditional psychotherapy and modern forms of healing, Skylight helps hundreds of people annually to find deeper passion and meaning in their lives. He is also the founder of The Skylight Foundation, a nonprofit extension of Skylight Counseling Center which provides affordable mental health services for those in need.
Through Skylight, David has been bringing forth new modalities of treatment which are helping to take psychotherapy into its next era. He was a Clinical Lecturer through the Department of Psychology for Northwestern University’s Master of Science in Marital and Family Therapy Program at The Family Institute for over 10 years, as well as an Adjunct Faculty member at Adler University's Master in Couple and Family Therapy Program.
David is currently a Clinical Member of and Approved Supervisor through The American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. He received his Master of Science in Marital and Family Therapy from The Family Institute at Northwestern University along with extensive advanced training in The Family Institute Post-Graduate Clinical Fellowship. Today David runs Skylight, manages his expanding clinical staff, offers numerous professional trainings and workshops, and sees clients on a regular basis. He has a specialty in working with people who are highly sensitive, empathic, intuitive, or clairvoyant and who consider themselves healers, therapists, body workers, energy workers, or caretakers.
